“Excellent price for last minute sleep en route to Toronto”

Had no prior plans to stay here, but turned out we needed a last minute night in Kingston. I instructed my teenager to get on the web and find a decent cheap place to stay while I threw some things in a suitcase (I also gave him a quick overview on TripAdvisor). The hotel my boys like to stay at in Kingston was sold out due to hockey tournaments, and other hotels we've had experience at were more than I wanted to pay for what was essentially going to be a few hours zzz's before continuing on our drive to Toronto. The nightly rate at this place was very inexpensive - they had a special on that came in even cheaper than the CAA rate. I always assumed the web rate would be the cheapest - I've learned better. We called the hotel first to see if they had any availabilities, and they gave us a cheaper rate on the phone. I've learned something new! We checked in very late, front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming. The lobby is kind of this quaint rustic feel. Room was cute and comfortable - almost felt like we were in a cabin or something. Relaxing atmosphere. Although the room is old and you can tell, it was clean and I found no evidence of dirt or anything "icky" that would turn me off the stay. Did not try the fireplace but it did give the room a very pleasant atmosphere and something you don't normally see. There are no elevators so we had to carry our bags to the 2nd floor, but no big deal - traveling with a 14 year old son and a 12 year old son, they have no problem lugging bags up stairs. I would stay here again and now my teenager knows how to work the web to find hotel deals, and he's been instructed in the necessity of referencing TripAdvisor first. Very easy to find. Did not try the restaurant although was given a voucher for breakfast and there is no pool but that was no matter to us. The internet worked fine which, aside from cleanliness, is the most important thing to us!

“Pleasantly Surprised!”

Was in Kingston for one night. I was very impressed with this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

“Amazing, comfortable, and clean”

This hotel met all my expectations to the food, rooms and service. I stayed here on business and as soon as I opened the door to my room noticed a fire place although it was a electric one it was still cozy and had the feel of a real one. I love the beds and the rooms

This hotel you can tell was an older structure but had been re done and renoed. very nice ..“excellent value...will be returning again”

We stayed here with our soccer team while on a tournament in Kingston. The hotel staff were very accommodating and helpful throughout our two day stay. We wanted to get the whole team plus parents to eat together, but the restaurant at the hotel couldn’t take 44 people all at once. We ended up ordering in pizza and chilaxing by the pool for the evening. Hotel management had no problem with us bringing in our own food, in return we bought drinks from the bar..easy!. Breakfast was good, pricing was between $10-15 depending on what you order. The hotel also has it as complimentary depending on your room type/price.

Rooms were very good, we had a 100 level room with a view of the pool (great pool!), the furniture was probably older and a few scratches and knocks, but it was real wood and still functioned as it should do. The room had a huge fireplace as well and had a cozy feeling to it. Beds we found to be very comfortable, air conditioning worked well and our unit was not all noisy. Bathroom was small, but looked to be recently renovated, showers were excellent, and overall was very clean and tidy. Considering how close this hotel is to the main road, it was very quiet with hardly any noticeable road noise.

This hotel is great value compared to the downtown places and should not be overlooked. We will be returning again to the Fireside!

“Good value for the price!!!!!!!”

Taking a mid week break and thought we would revisit the Fireside Inn. Our dinner at Bistro Stefan was excellent along with the great service provided by Eric. Drinks before hand at Tom's Place were relaxing and enjoyable. Our room was clean and comfortable although a little too warm. Upon checking in no one explained that the wall unit was the control for the room temperature so we were a little uncomfortable. Breakfast next morning was good. What we got far exceeded some of the negative reviews we read. Would recommend a visit

“Great room, no complaints.”

Since I'd recently joined the points program for Best Western, when we drove into Kingston on our way down east we decided to stay at this location. Luckily they had a few vacancies has we had no reservation. Our room was nice, flat screen, fake fireplace, great water pressure. The bed was comfortable and the wifi signal was strong. There was REAL creme in the fridge for coffee in the morning. That is important, since the sign advising that is small and easy to miss. About a 10 minute drive to the downtown waterfront area, close to a Tim's and a few gas stations. Room was a bit pricey but you do get what you pay for. The air worked very well and there was an inroom safe. Pool is outdoors, but I think it's heated. Didn't use it since there was a storm that hit as soon as we returned from dinner, but the pool area was nice and the water was clear and looked clean. I didn't hear any noise from any other guests at any time.
